Here are some of our most frequently asked questions:
What do you cost? Our attorneys bill in 1/10 hour (6-minute) increments, ranging from $220 – 280/hour depending upon the attorney’s areas of practice and experience. Administrative work is billed at $95/hour.
Do you offer flat-fee representation? We offer limited flat-fee representation, usually in the areas of estate planning and property transfers. Simple estate plans begin at $350.
Are your attorneys members of the ARAG network? Yes, and you can make your representation more efficient by having your ARAG CaseAssist Number ready when you call or email.
Do you charge for copies, postage, etc? For larger copying and mailing projects, you will be billed at cost for postage and $.10/page for reproduction.
What other costs can I expect to pay? Per Washington State Bar Associations Rules of Professional Conduct, clients are required to bear the actual costs of their representation. Therefore, we typically require a fee advance any time we expect to incur fees on behalf of clients. These fees could be for filing a will, lawsuit, or petition for probate, depositions, or property transfer recording fees.
Am I required to pay a retainer? Technically, in Washington State, a retainer is a monthly fee paid for ongoing legal representation. The proper term for what clients usually call a retainer is a fee advance, which we generally require from clients before beginning work on their matter. And yes, we do offer retainers for business clients.
What if I need help in an area of the law that you don’t have listed on your website? Call or email us! We have a great network of talented attorneys in most areas of the law, and we’ll be happy to refer you to people we know and trust.
Do you have after-hours appointments? We may, depending upon attorney availability. Please call or email.
Do your attorneys make house or hospital calls? Attorneys will make house or hospital calls for clients that aren’t able to come to us. Charges for travel time may apply.
Do you validate parking? We don’t, but both inexpensive street and garage parking are amply available in the neighborhood. For less than 2 hours, we recommend Pacific Place Mall, just across the street.
